The Border Terrier Club of America Trophy Table

Trophy Table

The trophy table at the BTCA National Specialty is truly a sight to behold! Many of the trophies are steeped in the history of the Club while others are more recent additions. But all reflect the Club's recognition of the dogs who earn the top accolades at our premier annual event as well as the role played by their owners and breeders.

The trophies that grace our table each year fall into two categories:

  • Challenge trophies offered through the Border Terrier Club of America, Inc. for competition at its shows only.
For permanent posession the trophy must be won three times by the same owner, not necessarily with the same dog, nor at consecutive shows.
  • Perpetual trophies offered through the Border Terrier Club of America, Inc. for competition at its shows only
These trophies cannot be retired but remain the property of the BTCA

A commemorative item such as a plaque or a certificate with the Trophy name and the winner's name is given at the awards banquet for all the challenge trophies.

The splendour of the trophy table and the treasured commemorative items truly reflect the generosity of our members - Thank You!

Now we invite you all to share in (and perhaps contribute to) this work in progress and also take a walk down memory lane by selecting the trophy name to see a list of winners or going to the end of each trophy section for a list of National Specialty winners through the years. You may also click on the small trophy photos shown on this page to see an enlargement with plaque and names where possible. Like the information on this page, the photos are a work in progress.
